About this Event

Clipstone headstocks museum

Our museum celebrates the rich heritage of Clipstone, from Kings Johns Place ruins to the first British speed trials on Clipstone Drive to Clipstone Camp which was the largest army training camp in Britain with 30,000 troops at anyone time. We then move to coal mining as we journey through time to 1922-2003 with 30 Raleigh bikes on display that miners rode to work on, guided tours through the iconic buildings with educational narration regarding the mining process and then we have a large collection of military vehicles including a Model T Ford with genuine bullet holes.

We have other interesting exhibits too such as a steam roller as the first tarmac road in the world was laid in Nottingham using coal tar from the pits and we also have a large circular saw as that was invented in Cliptsone too.
All we need to do now is let the world know that we have a very interesting and unique experience on offer which includes breath taking views from the roof top experience under the worlds
