About this Event
RSPB Rainham Marshes nature reserve
You don’t need to go far to leave the city behind for a day and get some fresh air in your lungs. Get close to nature, enjoy stunning views, fabulous sunsets and explore the reserve – all right next to the River Thames.
From breeding wading birds, water voles, grass snakes and an abundance of dragonflies and butterflies in spring and summer; to large flocks of wild ducks in winter, there’s always something to do or see.
We have a number of hides which give great views of the wildlife, even without binoculars – but you can hire a pair from us for the day.
Most of the paths and boardwalks are suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
You can visit all year round - there's always lots to see. The Thames riverside paths give lovely views across the Thames - where you will see birds, boats and London. These paths are great for jogging, cycling and walking your dog too.
