The story of the early life of later fashion icon, Coco Chanel, an orphan raised in a convent, who learned to become a seamstress and sang in backstreet bars to earn a living.
An affair with a rich gentleman took her into a different world, and she attracted attention for her unique and elegant style in a time of flamboyance and excess, not to mention the controversial affair which shattered the conventions of her society, and threatened to destroy her.
