About this Event
Harrogate Creative Stitchers
Harrogate Creative Stitchers is an independent group of stitchers and textile art enthusiasts, which meets at the ‘Friends Meeting House’, 12a, Queens Parade, Harrogate, HG1 5PP, usually on the second Saturday of each month. Doors open at 10.00am for a ‘Stitch and Chat’, then between 2.00pm – 4.00pm we have an expert speaker or demonstration.
We also meet on the last Tuesday of each month, for an informal meeting of sewing, coffee and a chat, in the coffee shop at the Everyman Cinema, ‘Westgate House’, Station Parade, Harrogate, HG1 1HQ at 10am until noon.
The speaker at our next meeting on Saturday 8th February is Hellen Edwards, who will be introducing us to her progression through textile and stitch, how it began and how it’s going! Hellen will tell us how she uses stitch and colour collaboration within her fibre paintings and mixed media paintings, with a discussion into the machines she uses, and how she uses them to give her the best techniques.
Finished work will be displayed, as will work in progress and non-mounted to feel and touch.
Date for your diaries!
On March 8th, Suzie Hart is delivering an inspiring presentation on Artizan International, a charitable organisation dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities by offering employment opportunities and comprehensive training programs.
