The ever popular Wendy Nugent is no stranger to the Middlewich and District Concerts Society concerts so her next performance is eagerly awaited. As before she will be playing on a grand piano. No expense spared!
Her programme ranges from the Solfeggietto by CPE Bach and to Un Soufle du Passé by the young Russian pianist Daria Vasileva, so you can guess at the range of styles involved. The heavy-weight piece is Mozart's sonata in F, K332. There are lots of shorter classical gems as well - a Chopin Ballade, Debussy's Clair de Lune, Felix Mendelssohn's Rondo Capriccioso and the three Preludes by Gershwin. A feature of the recital will be the work of female composers, starting with Fanny Mendelssohn and continuing with Amy Beach, Cécile Chaminade and finally Daria Vasileva. Who knows what else might turn up A concert definitely not to be missed. Full details are on the web-site www.madcs.org.uk, or contact Roger Evans on 01606 834471.
