Heather Redfern and Eileen Guppy - clarinet and keyboard
The Middlewich and District Concerts Society's first concert of 2024 will feature Heather Gordon-Redfern and Eileen Guppy. With these two ladies in concert we can expect some fireworks, of a musical kind of course! Both are seasoned professionals and able to perform on a range of instruments. However, for this concert Heather is playing the clarinet, with Eileen accompanying her on a keyboard.
Although Eileen has developed a liking for jazz, their programme is quite varied, from J.S. Bach to Benny Goodman. There are lots of gems in prospect, some arranged by Eileen. The full programme is listed on the web-site. Well known pieces include A foggy day in London town by George Gershwin and Jobim's One note samba. There is a sonata by Poulenc, a duo by Burgmüller and a sonatina by Horovitz, as well as a caprice, a lullaby, a ballad and some folk songs. Who knows what else might turn up? A concert definitely not to be missed.
