One of the best loved of all Donizetti’s tragic operas. Based on the Scottish novelist Walter Scott's The Bride of Lammermoor, the emotionally fragile Lucia is caught in a feud between her own family and that of the Ravenswoods set in the Lammermuir hills of Scotland.
