Britain's What's On Event Guide
Loughborough Orchestra January Concert 2025
This concert is the first to be led MD, John Bean.
John has long been a part of the local musical scene and is well known to many as a talented Cellist.
Also with a local connection is the guest soloist, Ailsa Burns.
Ailsa has trained at the Royal Northern College of Music and will be playing Bruch's popular Violin Concerto.
The third link in the local connections is also a unusual Family link: Alison Bean is not only a composer but also the wife of our conductor. The orchestra will be playing her composition Hope in Challenging Times, which she has adapted specially for the orchestral performance.
The evening starts with Brahms' Academic Festival Overture and to complete the programme, we bring you Haydn's London Symphony (104)
This is a great concert to enjoy in the depth of winter!
