Exciting young artists, Maximilian Catalano (baritone) and Harriet Cameron (soprano), accompanied by pianist Alicia Hernandez, will close the Adbaston 2024 concert season.
The Intermezzi trio's ‘Seasons of our Lives’ programme will include songs by Puccini, Britten, Vaughan Williams, Wagner and Mozart, in the mediaeval Adbaston Church (excellent acoustics), near Eccleshall, Stafford, ST20 0QE. Interval refreshments offered and free parking nearby.
The concert, from 5:30-7:30pm on Sunday 3rd November, has a first half of accompanied solo arias and duets, celebrating ‘Autumn’ and ‘Winter’ themes. After a refreshment interval, Harriet and Max will sing a ‘Spring’ and ‘Summer’ repertoire, including pieces by Butterworth, Puccini, Holst, Saint Saëns and Vaughan Williams, concluding with a celebratory Mozart song from the Magic Flute.
All three performers are finalising postgraduate studies at London’s prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama. British/Italian baritone Max has just returned from a triumphant performance in Chennai (Madras) India, as a soloist in Haydn’s ‘Creation’. This followed a series of UK recital and opera performances, including a summer Gala evening in Ludlow. Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music with first class honours, Harriet has sung in operas, oratorios and even as a soloist for Patrick McDowell’s collection at London Fashion Week 2024. Before coming to England, pianist and singer Alicia graduated from the Conservatorio Superior in Madrid. In July she was engaged as répetiteur for Berlin Opera Academy, playing the harpsichord, and in London is specialising in piano accompaniment for voice and drama.
The bimonthly ACCS concerts run on the first Sundays of May, July, September and November. Next 2025 events are Manchester Camerata Principals quintet (4th May 2025) and Chris Gumbley (jazz) ensemble on 6th July.
