About this Event
World Wetlands Day at Attenborough Nature Reserve
Join us for a full day celebrating everything wetlands! No need to book, just turn up on the day!
About the event
A fun day of celebration for our wetlands. Includes a variety of family activities, and is open for everyone!
Talks and activities include:
Attenborough Nature Reserve Management, Vision & Strategy Talk (10:00 - 10:45am)
Erin McDaid to talk on the history and future management and vision for the reserve. More information TBC.
Volunteer-led Wellbeing Walk around the reserve (11:00am - 12:15pm)
Come and join us for a stroll at Attenborough Nature Reserve and see the wetlands first hand. Take in the views, chat to someone new and enjoy the benefits of walking in nature.
Everyone is welcome - no special equipment is needed (though we do recommend trainers and a water bottle) and the route is accessible.
Just meet our friendly Walk Leaders at the apron (the place with the picnic benches between the visitor car park and the Nature Centre) to get started. The walk will follow the circular Tufted Duck trail and is 3km / 1.9m in length.
Thriving in a Wilder Trent Talk (2:00 - 2:45pm)
Overview of Thriving in a Wilder Trent Project that is delivering habitat improvements within the Trent catchment.
This project is funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its arm's-length bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
Plus an activity trail, family activities and much more!
