Meet Father Christmas in his Traditional Museum Workshop
Visit Father Christmas throughout December 2023
Traditional festive magic at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery. Visitors are invited to meet Father Christmas in his traditional museum workshop. The elves have been busily preparing to meet you and your family.
Follow the flagstones, through the shut, and enchanted stone archway and begin your climb up the original sweeping staircase. Children are welcome to post a letter to Father Christmas – look out for our post box on your journey.
A cheerful Elf guide will lead you through to a wonderous workshop, crammed full of history and magic, to meet Father Christmas himself! Tell him your Christmas dreams and wishes and receive an early gift.
Keep the magic alive as you follow the Christmas trail, exploring our fascinating galleries and try your hand at some of the free festive craft activities dotted around the museum. Perhaps a festive snack at the Stop Café, to round-off your Traditional Christmas treat.
You can browse the traditional and indulgent gifts, books, and pocket-money treats in our museum gift shop during your visit.
Please book your preferred time slot for your visit, where you will meet our friendly elves at the grotto entrance at your allocated time and they will lead you to Father Christmas in his museum workshop as he prepares for his special sleigh ride on Christmas Eve!
