About this Event
Comedy Club at The Richmond Club
We are back with another Comedy Club hosted by Alistair Barrie as he welcomes hilarious comedians Matt Richardson and Laura Smyth
Matt Richardson is a multi-award winning stand-up comedian and one of the most exciting names on the circuit currently rising through the ranks. Having started stand-up in 2009 at 18 years old, Matt became one of the youngest comedians on the circuit and soon made it through to the finals of two national stand-up competitions – the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny and the Chortle Student Comedy Award – as well as coming runner up in the Reading Comedy Festival New Act of the Year and winning the Newbury and Bath Comedy Festival new act competitions ‘ – all while still in his teens. He quickly established himself in all of the major comedy club chains in the UK and has gigged overseas on countless occasions.
Laura Smyth is a relative newcomer to the comedy circuit, starting in spring 2019. She has made an impact on the circuit, winning The Funny Women Awards in 2019, signing with a top agent, performing at clubs across the country, corporate hosting, and already making her TV debut. She is a native East Londoner and mother of three and her comedy is autobiographical and observational as she explores her place in the stupid world.
