Britain's What's On Event Guide
Maggie's Leadenhall Abseil
Take on the 'Cheesegrater' with friends and colleagues and raise money to support people with cancer.
About the abseil:
The Leadenhall building is one of London’s tallest skyscrapers, standing at 225 metres. Our abseil goes from the 200m mark making it one of the tallest building abseils in Europe. Tackle your fears and do something amazing while helping to provide the vital support that people with cancer need.
What you need to know:
A team of experts from MTS Abseil Events will be on hand to ‘show you the ropes’, abseil down with you and get you down safely. The abseil is open to everyone, no previous experience necessary (over 18s only, weight limit of 19 stone, unfortunately you cannot take part in the abseil if you are pregnant). You will be given a Maggie's t-shirt to wear on the day if you wish.
Registration details and timings:
When registering you will be asked to pick your arrival time. Unfortunately we can't guarantee that you will be abseiling down the exact same time as other people in your arrival time as the ropes are used by the next person as soon as they come available.
The whole abseil experience will take 1-1.5hours from your arrival time.
We ask all participants to raise money to support people with cancer and their loved ones at Maggie’s in London.
* Please note the abseil can only go ahead if the weather permits. The abseil can go ahead with light wind and rain but will need to be cancelled if the weather conditions aren't suitable.
Registration fee: £35pp
Fundraising target: £800
We ask all participants to raise £800 per person to support people with cancer and their loved ones at Maggie’s.
