Sleaford Choral Summer Concert 'A Summer Medley'
Sleaford Choral’s Summer Concert, ‘A Summer Medley’, will take place on Saturday June 23rd in St. Denys’ Church, Market Place, Sleaford. Please do join us.
Sleaford Choral will be conducted by their Musical Director, Rowland Lee and accompanied by Rosemary Field on piano. Jeffrey Blewett is the soloist for the evening performing, 'Onaway! Awake beloved!'(Coleridge Taylor) and a selection of songs by Donald Swann.
We have a very varied programme including the now rarely performed 'Hiawatha's Wedding Feast' (Coleridge Taylor), this is a charming musical journey through the first section of Longfellow's story, The Song of Hiawatha. By contrast, two medleys of music - one from Porgy & Bess, and one celebrating the Broadway classics of Rogers & Hammerstein. Also a selection of lively Northumbrian folk songs newly arranged by a Choral member, and several other short pieces complete our Summer Medley.

Concert begins at 7.30pm and will end at approximately 9.30pm, with an interval.Tickets are £10, purchase on the door, or from any member of the Society. The ticket price includes a finger buffet at the interval; refreshments (wine and soft drinks) will also be available, which are not part of the ticket price. Under 16’s (accompanied) are admitted free of charge.
