Britain's What's On Event Guide
Join our choir in St Austell Bay for a FREE taster session
If you have ever wondered 'are there any community choirs near me?' then the answer is firmly yes!
The local St Austell choir is run by vocal tutor Marcus Alleyne. The choir is for all ages and all the local Cornwall branches of Rock Choir, like ours come together to do incredible events like Flash Mobs and also our numerous Guinness World Record attempts (the choir members have 3 world records!) and community events too like the local Cornwall music and food festivals.
Whether you only sing in the shower or along to your car radio, or whether you see yourself belting out a showstopper at Wembley Arena (which we did! - for the ITV1 documentary 'The Choir that Rocks'), there's a place for you in the St Austell Rock Choir. With no singing audition or need to read music, anyone can come along to a FREE taster session and see what all the fuss is about!
Here is a quote about our choir - 'Being part of the choir has given me a wonderful opportunity to belong to a fantastic venture into the world of contemporary music and given me a new lease of life. Singing in the choir is a much better 'pick-me-up' than any anti-depressant tablet prescribed by a doctor. I come away after the weekly choir session with the best feeling ever and the companionship with fellow members is something money can't buy.' - Janet (Rock Choir member)
Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon 'Big Heart' Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
