Brook Street Chapel, Knutsford

Heritage Open Day: In the Chapel there will be displays of present day creativity and creativity since the Chapel was built in 1669. In the Heritage Room there is a display of Elizabeth Gaskell's life and her novels. Her grave is in the Chapel grounds There will be information on why the Chapel was created in 1679 and by whom and how it has developed over the centuries. The eminent author Elizabeth Gaskell began her writing skills in Knutsford whilst she attended the Chapel. Displays about her life and writing and a further display of the illustrators of her books. Present Day creativity within the Chapel including artistic events, children's creative activities during Family Services and many examples of creativity within the Friendship Group. The excellent organ has inspired a great deal of musical creativity over the years and there are examples of the decorative use of images of the Chapel .
