St Mary de Crypt Church and the Old Crypt School Rooms
Heritage Open Day: Discover de Crypt St Mary de Crypt is a Grade I listed church and regarded as one of Gloucester’s most important medieval churches. It is of Norman origin and was substantially rebuilt in the late 1300s. Explore the medieval church and Tudor schoolrooms. Use our app and talking pens to discover stories from Gloucester’s past. Events over the weekend “Bones and Bells” A guided tour of the Crypt and Bell Tower, with the opportunity to ring the bells under the watchful eye of Ringing Tutors from Gloucester and Bristol Diocesan Association. Tour to be led by the knowledgeable Ted Edmunds. Spaces for this unique opportunity to be booked via discoverdecrypt.org.uk as timings are to be worked around Ted’s other HOD commitments. Saturday 9th September morning concert, “Feast of the Baroque” with Suoni Chiari, as part of our Concert and Cake series. Refreshments available in the Old Crypt Schoolrooms.
