Britain's What's On Event Guide
Birmingham Folk's Global Trad Session
Organised by Birmingham Folk, the session is free and open to anyone with an instrument at any level. Under 18s are allowed upstairs in the pub. Plenty of parking outside and close to bus routes.
Any folk tune from any country is welcome; our previous sessions have included tunes from Ireland, Scandinavia, Wales, Romania, USA, England and others.
The first hour we play at a steady tempo and play tunes round a number of times; this is a chance for people to pick up new tunes. Anyone is welcome to start a tune they know and want to share.
For the rest of the evening it’s a free for all, any tunes/sets at any tempo. Again anyone is welcome to start a tune whether it’s from our previous repertoire or not. The playlists on our YouTube channel are just a resource for those who attend and want to revisit a tune they’ve heard in a session, not homework!
