The Last Norfolk Horseman
When you work with horses they are a part of you – Ray Hubbard
Ray was born in 1933 at Langmere; he is now in his ninth decade – a true countryman who has lived “a wonderful and happy life with no regrets”. He will share with us a fascinating window into the mysterious world of the horsemen of East Anglia, stories of horse whispering and superstition, of the toad bone which was believed to give the owner power over horses. “I had my grandfather’s book with all his old cures written out in his handwriting.”
Ray is also a successful entertainer, singing songs which reflect the life he knew of the countryside and Norfolk.
Come along to hear Ray’s treasure trove of wonderful memories that help bring bygone Norfolk back to life.
