Thanet Festival Choir & Orchestra present Handel 'Messiah' Part One
We can’t think of a better way of celebrating Christmas than by performing Part One, sometimes called ‘the Christmas Portion’, of Handel’s wonderful Messiah. The work begins with the prophecy of the Messiah and his virgin birth by the prophet Isaiah. and is followed by the annunciation to the shepherds and by reflections on the Messiah’s deeds. As has become traditional with ‘Christmas’ Messiah performances we’ll conclude with ‘Hallelujah’ from Part Two.
Our soloists will be Ching-Kwan (Nicole) Ng (Soprano), Luke Phillips (Tenor), and Orlando Barton Hodges (Baritone) and we will be accompanied by the Thanet Festival Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Clifford Lister.
Drinks will be available to purchase after the concert.
