Britain's What's On Event Guide
Valentine Bal with Deux Sans Frontieres
A special evening of bal-folk music and dance in the heart of Stony Stratford!
September’s bal at York House was such a success that Deux Sans Frontières are back with a little French romance to warm up your February. No need to bring a dance partner though, just come along and dance to the driving rhythms of Brittany and Central France, swoon to beautiful mazurkas and asymmetric waltzes and enjoy the unprecedented range of music that Deux Sans Frontières bring to their beautiful bals.
Deux Sans Frontières are one of the UK’s leading Bal Folk groups. Mark and Mike are hugely experienced musicians, regularly performing for dancers at festivals and Bals in France and across Europe as well as in the United Kingdom.
There’ll be a free workshop before the bal to introduce this style of dancing and some of DSF’s less well known dances. Dance as much or as little as you like and enjoy the opportunity to listen and drink in the ambience in the heart of Stony Stratford.
There will be a bal folk session at the end of the evening, so don’t forget to bring your instruments.
