Mozart Requiem - Choral Workshop
Mozart’s Requiem is one of the greatest and most popular works in the choral repertoire. It was claimed that Mozart believed he was writing the work for his own funeral, although he died before it was completed, and this task fell to his contemporary Süssmayr.
This workshop gives participants an opportunity to get inside the work, and to experience the thrill of performing a large part of it for themselves at the end of the day. It will be led by the Waverley Singers’ Musical Director, Richard Pearce, who is in demand both at home and internationally as an accomplished conductor, organist, and pianist. He often accompanies the BBC Singers and appears regularly as the organist at the Last Night of the BBC Proms. He will be joined by the choir’s regular accompanist, Jakob Rothoff, a sample of whose artistry can be seen here! youtu.be/OnzPQITcFbM?feature=shared
Hire copies of the score will be available for a small fee. Equally importantly, hot drinks will be available – and cakes… Registration from 1000: tickets £18 in advance; £20 on the door:
