About this Event

A Life Less Distracted - Meditation Course with Buddhist Nun

Saturday Jan 13 - a half day meditation course

The real nature of our mind is a like clear still ocean of peace. Once we have a glimpse of this stillness and peace, we will long to rediscover it.

By learning how to meditate on the nature of our mind we can gradually silence our distractions and fulfil our wish to remain calm and peaceful, not just in meditation, but carry it with us into our life. In this way we will be able to pacify our distracting thoughts and feelings and be more in control of our life, even when we are facing difficulties.

This half day course will consist of learning relaxing and powerful meditations which will be explained and guided by Gen Kelsang Dema, resident teacher at Uma KMC, Carlisle. She has much experience of explaining the basics of meditation and a skillful way of guiding meditations.

It is suitable for beginners and those with experience of meditation and is a very good starting point for learning how to meditate.

It will be based on the meditation download “Meditations for a Clear Mind” which can be very helpful to use after the course. See here for more information.

We will provide snacks and hot and cold drinks during the break and after the course.

Please feel free to bring your own vegetarian or vegan lunch and stay and chat after the course. Gen Dema will be happy to talk to you, and answer any questions you may have.

On Sunday 14 Jan we will have a day retreat to get to know and practise these meditations. See our website for more details.
