Celebrating Chilterns Chalk: Restoring Our Chalk Grasslands
Our Landscape Connections project team – Nick Marriner and Harriet Bennett – will share their experiences of working with a passionate group of farmers to restore chalk grassland in the Central Chilterns over the last four years.
They will tell the story of the Central Chilterns Farmer Cluster, how it came about, what it’s been doing, and how the Chilterns Conservation Board have provided support. They will also share lots of exciting news about their chalk grassland and hedgerow projects, ecological advice packages and chalk stream restoration works, alongside information on how they have supported new volunteers to carry out practical conservation work, undertaken ground breaking wildlife surveying, and inspired young people to get their first experience of conservation.
