Introduction to Blacksmithing Workshop
A full day workshop learning the basics of blacksmithing, making a simple poker and other items, each highlighting a key blacksmithing skill.
Starting with that all important chat about safety, you will then get straight to it, learning to hammer metal to a point and spreading the metal followed by making a simple poker each. You will then move on to making hooks and various other items. Everything you make you get to take home with you at the end of the course.
This course is suitable for beginners, no prior blacksmithing experience is needed.
Your tutor is David Gregory, an experienced master blacksmith whose work includes original commissions and a wide range of restoration projects. David also occasionally takes commissions for film and television productions. This course is limited to six participants to allow everyone plenty of time with the course tutor.
9.30am-5pm. £225 per person (£168 for under 25s).
