Hassocks Garden Trail - Open Garden for NGS
Three contrasting gardens to suit many interests plus the allotments, along with a small strip of ancient woodland, make up this walkable trail. There is a young modern garden around a new build (not open), a large wildlife/cottage garden close by, and a colourful walled cottage garden with semi formal pond in keeping with the 500 yr old, thatched cottage (not open), with the allotments a short walk away. The wildlife/cottage garden is wonderful but as can be expected, it is not manicured. There are some trip hazards, uneven steps, low branches and slippery areas, but as you explore this rich habitat the progress made by the owners in just 5 yrs is evident. The 59 allotments are not to be missed, a range of classic vegetables inc some exotic ones are grown.
