Six very different town gardens open under the banner of Monmouth Gardens. The Nelson Garden dates back to Roman times, and as the name suggests has links with Lord Nelson. St Johns, in Glendower St is a charming walled garden which has undergone extensive restoration with a sunken central lawn and deep herbaceous borders. Entrance to both these gardens is via Chippenham Fields. Cornwall House opens with the group for the first time this year. The beautiful walled garden and productive kitchen garden date from the C17. North Parade House is a hidden gem with a surprisingly large and secluded walled garden with mature specimen trees, herbaceous borders and a kitchen garden. Another new garden belongs to garden designer, Cheryl Cummings.
