Two Day Portrait Course in Pastels with Liz Balkwill
Improve your drawing skills with expert guidance from Liz. Working from direct observation, this weekend workshop will give students the opportunity to work through a portrait using pastels. More experienced students will be able to work at their own pace, those requiring more guidance will be shown each stage of the process.
Areas to be covered during the Workshop:
• Establishing size, angles and gesture.
• Proportion and placement of features within the anatomy
• Massing shadow and cutting in lights to establish form
• Choosing colours in the correct value and temperature
• Painting features
Suitable for all abilities. Previous drawing experience is desirable. A home cooked lunch and all refreshments are included.
