Britain's What's On Event Guide
Introduction to Collagraph Workshop with Sue Welfare
A weekend workshop printing by using recycled materials. A different form of Printmaking
During the course we will be making and creating a series of low relief collagraph plates, beginning by exploring what textures, tones and lines are possible from this exciting and novel way to print, before going on to create at least one final plate to print. The workshop will be informal and relaxed with lots of advice, support and hands-on guidance. We'll be learning and developing a range of mark marking techniques and skills, to create light, shade, Line and texture to explore our print ideas before creating a final piece. All specialist materials and tools are provided although participants are asked to bring some basic drawing equipment (pencil, eraser, ruler) and wear either old clothes or bring along an old shirt or an apron to protect clothing. Printing is inevitably messy! If you have any inspirational images or ideas you would like to develop as prints please bring them along too. Sue will also provide some starting points for print ideas. The course is suitable for beginners. No previous experience is necessary. A home cooked lunch and all refreshments are included per day.
