Brazilian Landscapes - Mario Bakuna Band - Live at The Bear Club
After a very successful season performing at international festivals and prestigious music venues in Europe, Africa and Brazil, promoting his previous album 'Where Rio de Janeiro Meets Bahia', Mario Bakuna brings to The Bear Club his latest release 'Brazilian Landscapes’ played by a very special lineup (acoustic guitar & vocals, bass, saxophone and drums)
With sold-out shows and great feedback, his previous album 'Where Rio de Janeiro Meets Bahia' and his new album 'Brazilian Landscapes' toured 18 countries in Europe, Brazil, and Madagascar.
Conceived by Mario Bakuna, 'Brazilian Landscapes' features new arrangements of material by great Brazilian composers such as Marcos Valle, Claudio Bertrami, Rique Pantoja, Gilberto Gil, Djavan, João Bosco, Arismar do Espirito Santo, and the forrozeiros Dominguinhos and Luiz Gonzaga, and is a tribute to the culture and memory of Brazilian people. From the arid landscape in the northeast to the chorus of songs of Forró, Baião and Xaxado, to the African influence found in Ijexá, the popularity of Samba and the sophistication of Bossa Nova, Mario Bakuna and his musicians celebrate the most musically rich territory on Earth.
The concert has been a great success and already counts with sold-out nights in London, Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Mannheim, Porto, Lisbon and Budapest; also headlined festivals in Estonia, Cyprus, Kazakhstan and Denmark.
