Looking at partnering in dance, in pairs and with several bodies.
Often not available in open classes, this is a chance to experience Susan's signature way of working, with dancers interlinked.
The first part will be a functional warm-up, but sensation and anatomically based, so not just about copying technical form, rather feeling in the body how to arrive at form with individual agency, fullness and ownership.
The second part will look at partnering in dance. Partnering with several bodies, and in pairs. We will look at the fundamentals of push, pull, float, and flow – and more importantly, the spaces in between each of those basic pillars. The work in this part of the workshop will be mostly improvisational, If time permits and any participants wish to, small groups can create some short bits of set material to show to each other.
