Britain's What's On Event Guide
Through the Frame - A contemporary art exhibition
Through the Frame is an opportunity to see limited edition artwork from some of the best known contemporary artists including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and David Hockney.
The exhibition will also feature the artwork packaging to celebrate the ‘wow factor’ of each artwork from the exhibition’s ‘Young Curators’ - pupils from Madeley School.
The theme of ‘Through the Frame’ is about looking at the artists’ ideas, trying to look at meanings to the artworks, such as why they were made.
The exhibition will also feature black boards showing a mind map of ideas and thoughts. A David Shrigley teapot, a nod to the region’s pottery heritage, will be displayed on a potter’s wheel.
The Young Curators want the exhibition to have a ‘behind the scenes’ feel that makes visitors think they are in the artist’s studio.
The exhibition runs from February 10th to April 14th.
The Brampton Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sunday 1:30pm to 5pm.
