This is the stage production of the wonderful 1990s film that starred Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Fiennes.
Adapted for the stage by Lee Hall based on the screenplay by Marc Norman & Tom Stoppard.
This amateur production is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
“Will Shakespeare is suffering from writers block, he feels he’s lost his gift. He has promised ‘Romeo and Ethel the Pirates Daughter’ to various promoters but is unable to deliver. He needs a Muse… enter Viola who auditions for his company disguised as Thomas Kent hoping to fulfill her dream of becoming an actor!
What follows is an imagined fable of how Will Shakespeare came to write the most famous love story of all time.”
