Beethoven Evening: Piano Concerto No.4 in G; Romance in F; Symphony No. 5 in C minor
St John's C.O Beethoven symphony cycle (2021-25) continues with the titanic and stormy Fifth symphony. Its dramatic opening chords are emblematic of struggle and resistance, which leads inexorably to its uplifting, exhilerating and triumphant final movement.
This evening's programme opens with one of Beethoven's most radiant piano concertos - the fourth - and we are delighted to welcome back Jianing Kong, prizewinner at the Sydney International Piano Competition to bring his effortlessly refined playing to this wonderful work.
Norden Farm Arts Centre is fully accessible, with free car parking and an excellent Cafe Bar. Check out the Pre Show Dinner Offer - main course and a dessert for £17.50 - when purchased at the same time as your tickets.
