Murder & Mystery at The Bluebell Railway
Murder & Mystery at The Bluebell Railway. March - July 2024 (One Friday Each Month) Murder! Rattle and Roll.
Now in our 31st year at the Bluebell! You will witness the events which lead up to and include a dastardly murder. Then, take your seat on the Bluebell Railway’s Golden Arrow luxury 1920s Pullman Carriage, where detective packs, clues and your three-course meal wait you. During your journey through the Sussex countryside aboard this iconic steam train, amid the splendour of your traditional period carriage, you will have two opportunities to cross-examine the characters, sift through the clues and check out the police/pathology information. But remember to keep a look out for those tricky red herrings and that the murderer will deliberately lie to protect themselves. Towards the end of your journey complete your answer form before returning to the murder room to discover if you've correctly solved the crime. Then hopefully (if you are the most successful detective you will walk away with a bottle of bubbly and a certificate proclaiming your detective skills.
Guests arrive at 18.30-19.00 for a prompt 7.
Welcome to 1957! This intriguing case is set in Hambridge, a village made up of more or less everyday folk. The members of the parish council are preparing for an evening of rock ‘n’ roll music and dancing at the village hall. The chairman, Laurie Horne, is helping with the final preparations. He is joined by his assistant, Lottie Moore; WI lady Eileen Forward; single handyman, Andy Mann; taxi driver, Gerry Cann; newcomer to the village, Nora Bone and Freda Payne is in the kitchen single-handedly doing the catering. Sounds like a recipe for murder! Guests may want to dress in the theme of Hambridge’s special event, ‘Dress Like a Teenager’! Those poodle skirts, net petticoats, plimsolls with ankle socks, bright Teddy boy jackets, slim trousers, quiffs and baseball jackets will take you back to the fabulous 50s while you solve this dastardly crime.
