Acclaimed fiddle and viola player Grace Smith is joined by Sam Partridge (concertina, electric guitar) and Bevan Morris (double bass) in this innovative ensemble, which offers a fresh take on folk. Bellows, bow and bass come together to mesmerising effect, with music that will stay with you long after you finish listening.
Folk Ensemble Music Workshop - 2:00 - 4:30 pm

Grace is a dedicated music educator and is in high demand as a tutor. Experienced in working with a wide range of ages and abilities, including teaching as a core tutor for National Youth Folk Ensemble, Producer for Folkworks Summer School 2023, instrumental tutor for Newcastle University, and working with music hubs and groups around the country.
Sam is a skilled and committed educator. He was most notably appointed the successor to Sam Sweeney as Artistic Director of the National Youth Folk Ensemble (2019-2023). His experience includes the Folkworks programme, Newcastle University and leading youth and adult folk music learning projects across England.
Having taught bass, guitar, drums and more at a local and national level, Bevan is an enthusiastic and experienced music educator. Alongside his weekly one on one lessons, Bevan has taught for prestigious organisations such as the National Youth Folk Ensemble and Newcastle University.
