City Lit Artist Talk: The State of Her
Heidi Wigmore is a visual artist. In this talk she will present an overview of her studio-based drawing and painting practice which extends to public art projects including installation, banners and billboards.
International Women's Day offers the perfect context: she has been developing a hybrid visual language of the female figure over many years, most recently in a 25 metre long canvas that functions as a wry commentary on contemporary constructs of womanhood. ‘To move freely with energy in the world is an extraordinary ideal. Women should have this room for possibility.’ Nancy Spero.
This is a free Artist Talk for International Womens Day, it will take place in the Cultureplex and is open to all.
