Harp Alchemy with Amy Turk & Lauren Scott

HARP ALCHEMY WITH AMY TURK & LAUREN SCOTT
with support from Trinity Laban Harps

To celebrate their respective album releases in April 19th 2024, trailblazing harpists and composers Amy Turk & Lauren Scott are collaborating, touring a programme of their groundbreaking music for solo and duo harps! This imaginative and creative performing approach is mirrored in their music, where invented techniques meet beautiful melodies, fused by their collective influences from classical, rock, jazz and film music.

Amy Turk is a multi-genre harpist, arranger, composer and session artist from the UK. She has become one of the most-watched solo harpists on YouTube, attracting millions of views to her ever-increasing list of video uploads. With special interests in percussion, video game music, film music and popular music of all styles, Amy has created a unique career path through her presence online, pioneering arrangements and compositions for solo harp and ensembles.

Lauren Scott is an inspiring musician; whilst continuing her decades of work freelancing with the major UK orchestras, she pushes musical boundaries on multiple projects as harpist with various chamber groups as well as creating numerous collaborative projects. In the last six years she has composed, arranged and published a highly imaginative and distinctive number of works. Her unique and dynamic style of composing was recently honoured with a PRS Foundation Women Make Music grant & her music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Scala Radio and included on BBC Introducing & Apple Music playlists.

Pre-eminently thoughtful and compelling, she draws sounds of deep soulfulness and will-o-the-wisp rustlings. Lauren Scott's Lever Harp sings sweetly and the recording is beautifully judged. BBC Music Magazine
