Our April 2024 event is hosted by Sheffield Humanists and is a presentation by Michael Heap, a retired psychologist and the principal organiser of Sheffield Skeptics in the Pub. This presentation is entitled Science and Religion. ‘For centuries, much has been written and debated about science and religion. Questions persist regarding the nature of their relationship, whether they are complementary in some way, whether they are simply incompatible, and whether one overrides the other.’ Michael will argue that the key issue is how individuals themselves reconcile these conflicts based on their own life experiences and what 'religion' and 'science' mean to them. Members of the audience will be invited to make their own contributions to this debate.
This event is on Monday April 15th at 7.30 pm. There is no need to book, and there is no entrance fee, but a voluntary donation of £3 is welcome to cover speaker’s expenses and room hire. Free carpark. Come early to avoid queuing at the bar.
