Farley Music Festival
Farley Music Festival returns for its 23rd year – running from 18th to 23rd June 2024 and has a solid reputation of bringing some of the best young musicians from around Europe playing over 5 nights.
Tuesday 18th June 7pm
The Munich Piano Quartet led by Anjulie Chen (Piano) - The players are Annouk Broennimann (Violin), Elisabeth Buchner (Viola), Lukas Rothenfusser, (Cello). Anjulie Chen and The Munich pianoquartet will play Mozart G minor piano quartet K.478, the Faure piano quartet no.1in C minor, Op.15 and the Schumann piano quartet in E flat major, Op.47.
Wednesday 19th June 7pm
Nicholas Walker – Piano. Our music Directorplaying amongst others the Liszt Paganini, B minor sonata, the Liszt Paganini Etudes and the trois caprices poétiques, viz. Il Lamento, La Leggierezza and Un Sospiro.
Thursday 20th June 7pm
Ian Fountain – Piano. He is going to play Beethoven Sonata in A flat, op.26, Schubert
Drei Klavierstücke, D946 and after the interval Debussy Suite Bergamasque, Chopin
Polonaise op.44, Chopin Barcarolle op.60.
Friday 21st June 7pm
Julia Hamos -Piano. She will play Bach Partita No.2, Bartok 15 Hungarian Peasant songs, Ravel Gaspard do la Nuit.
Saturday 22nd June 7pm
Opera Gala evening. With Julia Klimekon Piano, Oksana Lepska – Soprano, Aleksandra Kenenova – Mezzo Soprano, Robert Anderson – Bass, and Ceri Davies – Tenor.
Sunday 23rd June 6pm
Choral Evensong - The sermon will be given by Canon Revd. Stella Wood, with the choirs from Bishop Wordsworth and Godolphin Schools.
