Refugee Week Festival 2024
Don’t miss this year’s ACAA Refugee Week Festival which takes place at West London's Cranford Community College, High Street, Hounslow TW5 9PD on Sunday 23rd June 2024 from 10 AM to 8 PM.
The combined arts festival has funding from the Arts Council and will focus on Afghanistan and Central Asia. The event marks Refugee Week, an annual celebration of the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees which, this year, is themed around ‘Our Home’. The family friendly festival showcases music, dance, food and crafts from Afghanistan and Central Asia and children's activities include face painting and bouncy castle.
Performers include: Gheezaal Enayat, Hashmat Ehsanmand, Hamid Taban, Timor Shaidaie, Ziba Tabrizi, Tamim Yousefi, DJ Bass, Suleiman Omar, Yusuf Mahmood, Anja Samim, Najib, Yasin Mansuri, Hamid Erfan and Sara. Hosted by Nazira Karimi.

ABOUT THE ORGANISER
The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) is a West London based charity which offers education, mentoring and integration support to refugees living in the UK and advocates for the rights of women living in Afghanistan. It was founded by Dr Nooralhaq Nasimi, a refugee from Afghanistan, in 1999, after he arrived in England with his family in the back of a refrigerated lorry. Dr Nasimi was awarded the MBE in the 2023 New Year Honours List.
