Britain's What's On Event Guide
A FREE Guided Walk at NT Ivinghoe Beacon, led by Steph Rodgers.
A walk to enjoy a variety of spring butterflies including a chance to see Duke of Burgundy.
Join us for a trip to the National Trust’s Ivinghoe Beacon: a large area of chalk downland with a rich flora and a good range of spring butterflies. It offers spectacular views of the surrounding Chilterns from the northern end of the Ridgeway.
We will explore the steep grassland slopes and areas of scrub on this fabulous site. Target species: Duke of Burgundy and, maybe Grizzled Skipper, Dingy Skipper and Green Hairstreak.
Accessibility & risks: steep and strenuous slopes; as well as rabbit holes, brambles and scrub. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)
