Britain's What's On Event Guide
A FREE Guided Walk at Pitstone Quarry, led by Sue Tayloe.
A relaxed walk to enjoy spring butterflies: Small Blue, Dingy Skipper; and day-flying moths such as Burnet Companion.
Join us on a trip to the disused chalk quarry at Pitstone Church End: this large site is rich in wildlife and wildflowers making it a beautiful place to visit.
We will explore areas of grassland and scrub to see some of our spring butterflies and other wildlife. Target species: Dingy Skipper, Small Blue and day-flying moths such as Burnet Companion.
Accessibility & risks: the paths are unmade but mostly level except for one slope, though can be slippery if wet. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)
