The 1893 Roydon Riots
Enclosure and social conditions were bringing the village to boiling point.
Sparks flew at the Hall when the womanising Squire married an 18 year old girl who was younger than her step-daughters. This was the background to the Roydon Riots - a retrospective view by Basil Abbott and friends, of the drama production presented in the village for the 1993 centenary.
Start time: 2.00 pm.
