Room 46 The Musical
DEAR DIARY…DARE WE BE BRAVE?” “Our Story Starts At The Turn Of The Century, We’re Talking About The Year Of 2020. A Pandemic Swept Across The World And Not Just The Nation, It Baffled All The Doctors In The Science Profession. But, Although Covid-19 Is Notorious, This Story Is Actually About…US!”
Room 46 is all about friendship and how, in the toughest of times, it’s important to be surrounded by people you love. Set at the start and through the height of the coronavirus outbreak, the story follows teenagers trying to navigate their way through life with more restrictions than they’re used to. It explores how many of us have felt through those times and brings to light the hardships of home schooling and lockdown. They lean on their hobbies and each other for support, creating an online chat network, Room 46. Like many thousands of people across the world, the six teenagers ,once strangers, are grateful the pandemic brought them together to bond friendships for life.
When a performance covers a difficult topic such as bullying, loss, or feeling ‘different’, seeing these experiences played out live on stage can help children access unfamiliar emotions and develop a deeper understanding of–and empathy for–others. A live performance can often open up the opportunity for discussion based on the characters’ situation and how it might relate to their own experiences.
