The Addams Family
WODYS, Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Youth Society is thrilled to present The Addams Family, a new musical comedy with show-stopping numbers, a fantastic set and amazing costumes.
This musical brings to life the spooky and kooky characters seen in the Addams films and popular TV programmes. It is a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family and features a story that is every father’s nightmare.
The production follows a crisis in the Addams household, as Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family — a man her parents have never met. Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.”
The musical is anything but ordinary and totally different from Carousel, WODYS last very successful production. The 60 members of the theatre group, aged eight to 18, are really looking forward to bringing this eccentric family to life.
