About this Event
Music for Midsummer with St John's Chamber Orchestra
Joining St John’s Chamber Orchestra for this special concert to perform two of the most popular of all concertos are two outstanding soloists from the Royal Academy of Music.
Mozart Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
Bruch Violin Concerto No.1
Grieg Piano Concerto
The soloist in Grieg’s Piano Concerto is Ukrainian refugee Khrystyna Mykhailichenko, a multi-award winning young pianist from Kyiv. With her mother and sister, she fled the Russian invasion, first to Poland and then to England, and Khrystyna is now studying with Professor Joanna MacGregor at the RAM. Bruch’s Violin Concerto No.1 features Sicilian-born violinist Olwen Miles, who moved to London when she was 15, and was the winner of the 2020 Arthur Felsenstein Leavers Award at the Purcell School.
Mozart’s ever-popular Eine Kleine Nachtmusik opens the evening, and St. John’s Chamber Orchestra is conducted by Nigel Wilkinson.
Norden Farm Arts Centre is fully accessible, with free car parking and an excellent Cafe Bar.
