Hilary has been working 'en plein air' for over 30 years, and paints primarily in acrylics on heavy paper. She feels acrylics are a great medium for working outdoors. Plein air painting can be daunting for many, not just the thought that they might be viewed by passers by, but it can be challenging transferring from flat 2-dimensional images to the real thing.
Hilary will try to break down the barriers of working outdoors as it is hugely rewarding (security in numbers!). She will work on a small scale initially, with demonstrations and practical exercises to get going, then progress to a larger work to finish. The aim is to work outdoors all day but there is an option to head inside should the weather dictate.
Botton Village has a wealth of landscape views to chose from to cater for all tastes. Hilary has many tips up her sleeve to help make this a successful day.
