Capriol Chamber Orchestra Summer Concert
Capriol Chamber Orchestra is pleased to announce that our 2024 summer concert will be on Saturday 8th June in St Mary’s Church, North Woodchester at 7.30pm.
Our programme will include Coleridge-Taylor's Petite Suite de Concert, the well-known violin concerto from Mendelssohn, with soloist Isaac Williams and Bizet’s 1st Symphony, in C.
Our soloist Isaac Williams is a former student of Sir Thomas Rich’s School. He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in 2022, with a seat in the 1st violin section. He won both the jury prize and audience vote at the 2023 Gloucestershire Young Musician competition and has recently given recitals at the Cheltenham Music Festival as well as appearing as a soloist with local orchestras. He was awarded a scholarship for Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where he has been studying with Carducci Quartet 1st Violinist Matthew Denton since September 2022. Isaac was also one of 21 recipients of the Royal Philharmonic Society's instrumental purchase grant for 2023 and, in the last year, he has played in masterclasses with acclaimed artists Jennifer Pike and Tasmin Little as well as led conservatoire orchestra projects.
Tickets £12 (£10 for people in full time education, on Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance, or Income Support), £1 reduction on tickets purchased prior to concert evening. Children under 16 free.
