Level 1 Makaton Workshop

The Level 1 Workshop is the starting point for learning Makaton and is suitable for everyone. Parents and caregivers of children with SEN find learning Makaton useful. The same applies to education, health and care professionals working in settings with children, young people and adults with communication difficulties.
This Level 1 Workshop provides a practical introduction to the Makaton Language Programme and covers commonly asked questions, hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use, as well as how to start using Makaton in everyday situations at home or in any other setting.
It includes the signs and symbols from Stages 1 and 2 of the core vocabulary and part of the additional stage.
Participants receive a manual and a certificate of attendance.
No previous experience of using Makaton is required.
